High Noon

High Noon is an old western that is centered around a town marshal named Will Kane who is trying to get away from his job and reitre with his new wife. Unfortunately on his last day he finds out that a man he put away is coming back at noon that day. The man that he put away is named Frank Miller and he swore revenge so this turned out to be a bad day to turn in his badge. Basically Will Kane has a few hours to round up a posse to be able to fight off the oncoming battle between Will Kane and Frank Millers gang all while dealing with his new wife who does not want him to fight because she's afraid that she will lose him. Aside from the story, the way in which this movie was made is incredible. The movie is filmed in real time. Its called high noon because Frank Miller is due to arrive at noon and he actually does. Throughout the film there are clocks in a lot of the scenes and the time progresses as it would in real time with Frank Miller arriving at noon. The movie is also good when it comes to foreshadowing. Earlier on in the film a white gun is placed on the wall in the sheriffs office. It is very white and sticks out within the scene because even though the film is in black and white there is not much in the film that is this white. The only other thing that is this white in the film is Will Kane's wife's dress which is perfect because the gun that is on the wall is not used until she comes around and then she uses it to help Will Kane. This is just one of the examples of foreshadowing but they are all over the place in the film.
