This week I figured I'd talk about how much I love Rihanna's music video for "We Found Love." The video, directed by Melina Matsoukas shows her abusive relationship with Chris Brown. And mirroring that relationship the video is overwhelming and at times disorienting. It's really powerful, not only through just the actions in the video but through the use of color and editing. The cuts are quick and the film doesn't stay in one place for very long. There's a lot going on in this video, with more scene changes than a regular music video and through all these elements the message of this video is able to get across perfectly.
