i hate rendering

I have a question. Is there any way to make it so you don't have to render the footage every time you do something to it? Probably a stupid question but it gets really annoying.
thank you!

I think it might be related to what I mentioned in class regarding sequence settings. One of the reasons it might be doing that is that the size of your project does not correspond to the size of your source material, therefore every change you make needs to rendered, very annoying indeed!

Try to set your, er, settings to the exact size/mode of your source. Again, open first in Quicktime, go to Window/Movie Inspector (Apple I) and jot down the format.

Then use that exact format in your settings. If you are using two or more clips with different formats you would have to decide which format would be best and then render out the others in that format/size so that they are all the same. Makes sense?

I have two videos that have different frame rates; one is from the UK and has 25 and the other I assume was originally in 24 and was converted to 29.97. I had to adjust the sequence for the 25 fps, but the other one works just fine. This won't create any problems further down the line will it?
