Rosedale on SL Business
I ran across this and thought he had a couple of interesting points that tie into the last couple of class discussions. It's a short clip of the interview, but he talks about business strategies for people coming into SL. Like with most things, it seems like it's really going to depend the mindset of the people bringing their businesses into SL as to whether they are going to be successful or not. But, he thinks people aren't going to be able to just pull their online marketing strategies into SL and expect them to work. It opens up an interesting question of whether people will respond to shopping in world the same way as they seem to with web 1.0. Will people be turned off as easily to a shop in SL as they tend to be with a website that doesn't come up as fast as they would like or something that isn't as user friendly as they think it should be?
