Unexpected Production Values

I stumbled across this video yesterday when I was just looking for good music.  The music is excellent and was lots of fun to listen to, but the thing that blew me away was the production values in this video. There are lots of cover videos on Youtube, and they are usually well done.  However they are usually limited to a static shot of the performer against a white wall with flat lighting.  While there is nothing intrinsically wrong with this, it does not take advantage of the visual medium.  Sure, we can see the performer, but as an audience we don't get much more than we would with a normal recording.

The piano guys takes full advantage of the visual medium that they are using and tells a story that is just as entertaining to watch as the music is to listen to.  They have dynamic lighting, well done shot selection and editing, and superb art direction.  Even the instruments have been selected to match the tone of the entire video.  All in all, very impressive, and it is a testament to all the wonderful content creators on Youtube.
