Always Be Skeptical

Today I wanted to share with you an amazing video of seemingly the most amazing ping pong trick ever. It was published on YouTube on September 20th of this year, and went viral. Today it has over 2.5 million views, and has been featured all over the web. The video starts off with a girl with two paddles in each hand, then a man steps into frame with two large knives. He serves the knives one by one and the girl is able to catch each in her paddles. For their big finale, another man holds a pineapple above the young girl's head as the man takes out a third knife, and serves it right through the pineapple, splitting it clean in two. Watch the video bellow to see it for yourself.
Now this is obviously a near impossible task to pull off, so are these people really ping pong wizards? It is wise to always be skeptical of amazing feats featured in internet videos. Generally, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. And in this case, this stunt is too good to be true. But how did they fake it so well? How did they fool millions of people? I found a video by a wacky YouTuber, CaptainDisillusion, where he debunks the fake video piece by piece. He does a great job analyzing the footage, and when it is slowed down you are clearly able to see how the troupe was able to pull off such an illusion. Check out the debunking video below and see how they did it.
