Cool concept, but obviously very immature technology. I was thinking about how SL could be made more realistic and interesting. I think the fact that facial expressions and gestures are difficult in this VW really does impede communication. This seems like an easily solvable problem.

I do a fair amount of webcamming over Skype with friends and family. My Logitech webcam came with a program which can detect your eyebrows, eyes, mouth, and head position. Using these things, you can elect to be transformed into a lifelike cartoon such as a cat, a unicorn, or an alien. The software is fairly good at keeping up with changing expressions and movements.

I wish they would integrate something like this into SL to make the interface less clumsy.
