Organge is the new black is back??

'Orange is the New Black' will be back in june. If you didm't know, well now you do. Season 3 of "Orange is the New Black" will be premiering on netflix june 6th and available to stream june 12th. If you didn't see the first two seasons, I suggest you get right on that. There is so much to see, literally and figuratively. Unless you don't like drama, love, comedy and just a good story then don't watch it. You probably won't even be reading this if you weren't interested. Anyways….  I don't want to spoil all the fun so I won't go in details. So here is a,little bit of what you might expect to watch.

The first season it mainly follows Piper, the main character. She was arrested and put in jail because of old drug relations with her ex-girlfriend. She was drawn into the life of drug dealing and then had to pay the price. Piper is faced with a lot of obstacles ranging from ex-girlfriend drama to possible new girlfriend problems..key word possible. One of the inmates decides that she wants to date piper. Piper has to learn to deal with life in prison nd the ability to stand on her own.

In the second season, it explores the lives of the other inmates. It gives light on the struggles of life in prison and even the life before prison. We sometimes forget that others live cry different lives than us and people across the country face problems that others only have seen in the movies. People can't choose the cards they have been dealt. And unforunitly some people are thrown into a life of being in prison that could've been avoided.

I am really excited for the next season because I can't wait for the characters to develop more. Despite it's vulgarity sometimes, if you look past it the story is actually a beautiful story.

#GIRLS

Recently, when watching my weekly episodes of my favorite shows, I realized that I tend to watch shows that somehow relate to my life. One of my favorite HBO Shows is Girls. A show that follows the very intimate and very real lives of four twenty-somethings, living in New York City. They deal with internal conflict, as well as social conflict with each other and other supporting roles. The issues demonstrated in the show relates to not only my life, but of the lives of girls within the same generation as my own. I think that this ability to relate is what brings so much love to the show, and makes it so attractive to our generation. Recently found on BuzzFeed:
The questions within this quiz, ask about favorite snacks, pet preference, guilty pleasures, romantic life, style of coffee, etc. The quiz then generates a general response based on the multiple choice answers and posts a picture of the character you are most alike. Charlie was the character I was matched up with.
Not only was I surprised, I was slightly disappointed!I was hoping to be most like Jessa, or Marnie (my two favorite characters). But then the whole concept of this quiz had me thinking. Am I supposed to be relating to only one character? Then it was sunday night. So, I logged into my HBOGO account and I binged watched Season 3 of Girls. I realized, that the girls in this show have multiple aspects of a girls' personality, but divided up into separate people. I think that instead of trying to figure out which character I am most alike, I should be thinking about how these characters are most like me. In this interview on The View, the girls of the show describe the "feelings" of the show the most relatable part.

Even though the characters are going through various situations, as a girl, we can feel for the characters as if they were our friends, or even ourselves because the feelings are so familiar. Lena Dunham does an amazing job in getting her audience to relate to the characters in her show. I think that thats what makes this show so great. Girls has a very real flow to it that makes everything seem like real life, but with a little more drama added to it.

Game of Thrones

The highly anticipated season for Game of Thrones is going to premiere its first episode for season 3 March 31, 2013.  HBO speaks highly for the new season of the favored show.  All of the talk from the producers and directors is about how this season was the one they wanted to do the most.  Being a big fan of the show, like many others, I sit anxious for the premiere and expect nothing less then the season blowing my mind away.  I don't know what this will mean for future seasons; but with the reputation that HBO has and the sales for the Game of Thrones books, I am sure future seasons will also be as epic.

The anticipation for this season comes from all of the new characters that are being introduced and the amount of new locations.  Scenes were shot in many countries including northern Ireland, Iceland, and Morocco.  The sets are talked about as being vast and absolutely unbelievable, the costumes and designs all look 500 years old, the characters are clashing and there is just so much more danger and risk.  Fans are holding high expectations for season 3 and I believe those expectations will be filled and then some.
