I recently just got through the first two seasons of the original mini-series "American Horror Story". The show is not just an excellent piece of television, but it in my opinion redefines the horror genre all together. The first season take place in the "Murder House" and tells one families journey to their ultimate demise while revealing an entire history of death that took place there over the years. American Horror Story tells a compelling story with well defined characters and a multitude of interesting subplots, all while being able to scare the complete shit out of you.
The other thing I really enjoy about this show is the fact that the second season is literally almost an entire different show in itself. It contains an entirely new storyline with different characters and locations, taking place in a mental asylum. The creators decided to keep many of the same actors though, so the memorable performances from Season 1 are not only able to be replicated, but seen through a different character. Season 3 takes place in New Orleans and will be set in modern time. I can't wait.

Paranormal Activity 4
The other day I decided to make the daring decision to watch Paranormal 4 by myself. I had to watch it during the day though so I didn't scare myself at night to a point where I wouldn't be able to sleep at all for the next week or so. I also watched the other 3 paranormal movies last year during the year because I was bored. All of my friends had seen them so I decided to do it myself just so I can say that I saw the movies. Watching all of these movies I realized how scared I can get at a single movie.
At this fourth one I was legitimately screaming and yelling because I got so scared at certain parts. The pop outs, the effects, I was freaking out at a majority of the movie. Even though I was scared beyond belief, I was still very impressed with how the movie came out and how it was put together. The amount of pop ups and how they brought about the big curve ball about Hunter I thought was incorporated so well. I will admit that I liked how they used people that were not related to the family of Hunter because it showed that they were branching out, however, seeing that Hunter was adopted by this family that shows how the family was related. I wish that they showed us how Hunter ended up becoming a part of this family. I obviously know he was adopted, but when? Why? That's what I want to know.
Overall, this movie was really good, really scary, and very impressive. If you like scary movies, then this is the movie for you, but just be aware, if you watch this at night, good luck sleeping.

The Final
So I watched a very interesting movie this weekend. No it wasn't a romance, chick flick like The Notebook that I wrote about for last week. This week I watched a movie called The Final. This is one of those movies that looks super scary but ended up not being as scary as I thought. However, it reminded me of Saw; a lot.
This movie was about a group of nerds who were always picked on in high school. They felt as if it was a sign from G-d to get back at them. Needless to say, they took all of the knowledge that they learned from the horror movies that they had watched over the course of their lives and decided to make it into real life. They all got together and planned this Halloween party at this house in the woods so no one can find them. Once all of the popular kids came to the party, they drugged them all so they would fall asleep. While everyone was asleep they chained them all up to the floor so no one can leave, obviously. Once they woke everyone up, one by one the nerds tortured them so they knew what it was like to deal with all of the making fun. So the tortured in high school became the "torture-ist" at the party. These torture acts were sick. For example, they used a gun that they shot cows with on one kid. Another, they did extreme acupuncture on someones throat. And it just gets worse from there. Bear traps, burning faces off, cutting off tongues and fingers, paralyzing people. It was very gross, but I won't lie, I did find it to be a really good movie.
So if you're into Saw like movies and all that sick stuff, then check out this movie HERE.
