Mark Isham and Once Upon A Time

I know I've posted about the TV show Once Upon A Time before, but this time I want to talk about the musical score of the show, so it'll be different and really cool, I promise.

Mark Isham is a composer and musician in Hollywood, and he's been working for over twenty nine years in the industry. He has won both Grammy and Academy Awards for his score on the film Crash in 2004, and has both written and performed music for over 100 films to date, including most recently, The Lucky One starring Zac Efron.

In addition to his film work, Mr. Isham has also composed for television shows such as Once Upon A Time. The executive producers and creators of the new ABC series, Adam Horowitz and Eddie Kitsis, were big fans of Mark Isham after hearing his work in so many films and asked him to be the composer for the show.

This past February, Mark Isham and ABC Studio released the Once Upon A Time (Music from the TV Series) EP. The soundtrack features the four main orchestral suites from the series, including the aptly named "Once Upon A Time Orchestral Suite" and "The Queen's Curse" which are two of my favorite scores used in the show.

If you haven't seen Once yet, you should definitely do that, it airs Sunday nights at 8pm on ABC! It's the best show ever and it's written by the guys who wrote for Lost, so you already know it's going to be good...

Lost

Recently, after being persuaded by all of my friends, I started watching the show "Lost". I had thought of watching it before but with six seasons and 25 episodes in the first season, it was always such a huge time commitment to start it. So I guess it was now or never. I know that it has gotten plenty of mixed reviews with many people loving it and many people hating it. I ended up loving it. Granted im only through the first season, but I am hooked.

What I really like about it is the amount of character development. They make use of intensive flashbacks to get the points across of each and every characters back story and how they all tie in with each other and how they are all in each others back stories, even if only slightly. These flashbacks in turn influence how characters act while on the island and what they do while they are there. The backstories explain more and more each episode which is one of my favorite things about Lost.

I know that things get more and more ridiculous as it goes along through all six seasons, and there were ridiculous things that happened already in season 1, but once I got past that and understood that that is part of the show, everything got better. So my only complain thus far would be how far fetched some things are, but hey, that's the way the show is so if someone doesn't like it they just don't need to watch it.

Intel x3100 or gma965

Do you have a brand new pc or mac with a x3100 integrated graphics card? This integrated mobile graphics card needs special settings in the settings file for second life to operate. If you log in to second life and it crashes right before it should load, then this fix could be for you. In the settings file under your windows username, and follow the path from the picture you can access the xml file. You might have to unhide folders if you are using vista. Google that process first. After you have reached the settings xml file add the following entry

This should let you in, hope this helps and sorry about the delay Donna. Your Viao should work now. Also this post may be useless if one of the new builds of second life, that has just been released, automatically configures for the x3100.
