Lighting Stills

Hey guys,
So, I realize I haven't posted for a while, but I was hoping for some help. I'm in Steve and Gabo's group for The Golden Doorknob, and, as you read in an earlier post, we're looking for help lighting our scenes in a gloomy blue light. Here are a few examples of the kind of look we're going for, so if you have any suggestions of how we could make this happen, that would be amazing. Thanks!

Molly

  1. All those color effects are easily done in either Final Cut Pro color correction suite or else in After Effects. So just make sure your original material has the overall look (without color correction) in terms of contrast, source of light (soft, hard, backlight etc) and is correctly exposed with safe values on both ends.

You can see for example in the pic of the couple by the dumpster, that both the dark areas and the light areas have enough detail, and I am sure if you look at the original you would see a lot more, and still retain that dark moody contrasty look. Good examples
