God is also apparently a shareholder on big-oil and is very keen on pumping up whatever is left so that total destruction can be assured in time for his glorious second coming. Make sure you have your camera loaded and please post the event on YouTube.

Like they say, this strategic candidate has an excellent record on both energy and the environment, issues that are intricately related. And, proverbially, two birds can be killed at once. Since it is her stated belief that human activity has no impact whatsoever on global warming (use the internet to check this outrageous if not plain stupid statement) then it is OK to "drill, drill, drill", "kill, kill, kill" so that we get rid of that inconvenient wilderness full of animals that deserve to be killed, not to mention the rest of humanity. That way we can all enjoy front seats at the Apocalypse. Excellent strategy.
Palin's favorite hobbyIt is a sad thing to see the pathetic crowds pumped up by such shows of indifference to life, coming from someone who claims to be on god's side in everything she does. With that consultant who needs Kissinger?
It used to be that the "ugly american" usually referred to some individuals that exemplified the worst arrogance that this country exported abroad. But as of today the global perception has shifted to the "ugly country" which I guess plays very well with the political campaign slogan of "country first". After all our exports were suffering, now we have a true product that we are supposed to be proud of.

First I want to say that I am highly offended by vice-presidential candidate Palin's statements that the war in Iraq is God's will and plan. Making such a statement is the height of arrogance. I believe in God, yet I would be very cautious in making a statement like this. First, how can she know this is God's Will? Doesn't she realize that this statement could cause more harm than good? And doesn't she realize that her statement reflects poorly on the God that she claims to serve?
The last time that God intervened on behalf of a nation was (in my opinion, I'm not stating a fact here) during the birth of the United States. Facing a nation of incredible military might and power, America did what no one thought possible. Many of the founding fathers of our nation believed strongly in God' providence and in praying for delivery from an oppressive enemy. In my opinion, God did that.
Well, doesn't that mean that he could do the same again? If you search the Bible, you find many examples of God being on the side of the disadvantaged and the oppressed. Rarely is he seen as being sought by those in powerful positions.
Why is this? I believe it is because he helps those who are weak and in need of help. He doesn't help a prideful, self-sufficient nation who refuses to acknowledge him, or who acknowledges him in word but not in deed.
The problem with saying that God is "Made in America" is that it goes along with the all too common belief that he is our own creation. By common definition God is higher, more powerful, and more knowledgeable than humans. Therefore, he cannot be "made" by anyone.
Now that doesn't mean that people can't make their own gods. That's another story. We all do that. But that doesn't mean that we make God. It only means that we deceive ourselves into thinking that we can make him.
And all the while his honor is tarnished by people who would use him for their own ends, rather than seeking him to help in real needs...
