going green
This may be a little out of context I just wanted to share with you all some of the key focus of industry folks around the world. I recently got back from the International Advertising Association World Congress that was help in Washington DC this year. The central theme of most advertising professional seems to revolve around being truly green as opposed to just riding the wave. E-Platforms help in a lot of way for educational institutions to really promote this cause but at the same time when auditing some of the process that we do officially or personally if each one of us audit ourselves we may do a lot better. So before you print a piece of paper next time for class re-think...
I agree. There is a tendency to wait for the BIG breakthrough that will save our asses form extinction which is pretty certain if we do nothing but wait. Every little bit counts. We just have to break through generations of consumerism that taught us that more, bigger, faster etc. is better. Yes, better or another kind of green. But now Mother Earth wants to stop the rape and who can argue against that?
ReplyDeleteJust remember to do what the "green" public people say and not what they do. Most of them end up leaving much larger carbon footprints than the average Joe (see http://www.businessweek.com/innovate/NussbaumOnDesign/archives/2007/02/gores_carbon_fo.html). So maybe we need a grassroots approach. Less talk and carbon footprint and more action??!
