The massively multi-player environment has met a new twist. Go Cross Campus, an online game pitting dorm against dorm, school against school, or company against company, claims to be a MMPG and a “locally social online sport. “ As I understand, the local social component involves groups that can form, strategies, and play in a real world setting. For example, a dorm resident may recruit hall mates in person to join the online army and battle a rival dorm.
Apparently, UF already has an army leading the tournament against other Florida schools including FSU. I have yet to enlist for the Gator Nation army but I’m curious to know if anyone else is one of the 67 UF players and to hear about your experiences with this new game.
