This gave me an idea to prototype a "real" 3D environment (think poor man/or women's IMAX) using SL. Synch might be a problem at least currently although even that could be solved the same way we synch international music collaborations here at the REVE using the "Netronome", but here is the idea.
We attach (via script) two "cameras" points of view distanced 2 or 3 inches apart and looking in the same direction. We feed the SL streams from 2 different computers into our main (3D capable) projector on the big screen, we put our liquid crystal shutter glasses and voila! total 3D immersion :-)
